The Men’s Soccer team faces Army (1-1-1) at 7 PM tonight at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The men’s team comes off a split at the Duquesne Invitational that saw them defeated 3-2 by Duquesne on Friday and then victorious in a 2-0 shutout vs. Niagara on Sunday. The split keeps the Bearcats at an even record of 2-2-0 on the season.
-Sophomore forward Alex Varkatzas scored twice over the weekend and was named to the Duquesne Invitational all-tournament team. Currently, Varkatzas leads the team with four points thus far.
-Binghamton has accrued six goals in a matter of four games with four of their goals coming in the second half. Look for these trends to continue tonight for the offensively minded Bearcats.
-Attempting to stop the Bearcats will be Army goalkeeper Winston Boldt, who is coming off of two straight shutouts and was named the Patriot League’s Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
-Binghamton has only faced Army once before: back in 2012 when they defeated the Black Knights 2-1 in West Point.
